No More Poaching

Politics

CITES, an organization made up of almost 200 countries, has chosen nineteen countries that are the most responsible for allowing elephant poaching to continue. This includes source countries (where elephant tusks come from) such as Tanzania; transit countries (which have ports that tusks pass through) such as Hong Kong; and destination countries (where tusks end up) such as China. These countries are writing and enacting action plans with detailed steps to stopping poaching. Other governments (ones that are not part of the poaching problem) such as the USA, have taken action as well.
